THE SEASON OF LENT
We invite you to join us for these Lenten events and worship.
 
Adult Forum

April 1: “From Hosanna to the Cross”: Pastor Opalinski  and Deaconess Deborah will be leading this forum which will take a biblical and historical look at Palm Sunday, also known as Passion Sunday.  Bring your memories and your questions.

April 8: Easter Sunday features “Holy Laughter”: at 10:00 am we will share jokes as we joyfully laugh together, celebrating the resurrection!
 
April 15:  Rachel Baur, Environmental Education Specialist for Nolde Forest Environmental Education Center, will discuss some Nolde history and current Nolde EE Center programs provided through Pennsylvania State Parks.  If time allows, she will do a brief program on “what you can do in your backyard for PA wildlife.”   
The program discuss how choosing native plants for your backyard can provide better food and shelter for the diversity of animals that live in Pennsylvania.  

April 22:  Tim Daley, Executive Director of habitat for Humanity, Reading, speaks about the organization and its “ReStore.”

April 29: Pr. George Kinney discusses his “Mission Trip to South Central Diocese of Tanzania.”

HOLY WEEK 2012

Palm/Passion Sunday: April 1

Worship at 8:30 am in the Chapel and 11:00 am in the Nave. Weather permitting, we will gather in the courtyard for a palm procession before 11:00 am worship.
 
Maundy Thursday: April 5

Holy Communion at 7:30 pm in the Nave.  This service will be broadcast live on Comcast Channel 21.

Good Friday: April 6

Worship based on “The Seven Last Words of Christ” from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm in the Nave.  Please come and go as you are able.

First Word (12:10)—Pr. David Strobel
   (“Father, forgive”)
Second Word (12:40)—Beth Evans (“Today you will be with me”)
Third Word (1:00)—Pr. Ginny Biniek (“Woman, behold your son”)
Fourth Word (1:25)—Pr. Luther Routté (“My God, my God”)
Fifth Word (1:45)—Pr. Elton Richards (“I thirst”)
Word Six (2:10) —Pr. Rick Chaveas (“It is finished”)
Word Seven (2:30)—Pr. Fred S. Opalinski (“Into your hands”)

Easter Vigil: April 7

Shared worship at 7:30 pm in the Trinity Nave with Christ Episcopal Church.  Easterfest follows.

Easter Sunday: April 8

Holy Eucharist at 8:30 am and 11:00 am; both in the Nave.  Easter Breakfast at 9:30 am in the Hintz Room (bring a dish to share).

Holy Laughter at 10:00 am in the Auditorium(bring your best joke!).

Egg Hunt for children at 10:15 am in the courtyard—bring a basket!
